Before you can book the practical driving test you must firstly take & pass the driving theory test. The driving theory test can be taken at your local theory test centre.

The driving theory test consists of 2 parts which are the multiple chioce questions & hazard perception test. Both sections will need to be pass to be successful.
This sections consists of 50 multiple chioce questions in which 43 or more need to answered correctly. The time given to complete these questions is 57 minutes.
On the hazard perception section you will watch a series of 14 clips on a computer monitor which contain driving hazards. You will need to respond to these hazards by using a mouse. You can score between 0 - 5 points per hazard. The earlier you respond to any major hazards seen the more point you will score. To pass this section you will need to score at least 44 out of 75.
